Former AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE Guitarist Joins OTEP
February 1, 2006OTEP have announced the addition of former AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE guitarist Karma Cheema and ex-SYNAPSE drummer Brian Wollf to the group's ranks.
"We have been working almost every day of the week for the past two months — writing, reciting, summoning the dark arts of our sensuous sound from the most secret places in our hearts," OTEP frontwoman Otep Shamaya said in a statement. "Recording is set to begin in the next few months.
"We are so excited to have this opportunity to bring our dreams to life. We thank each of you for your unending support and belief. It matters. We cannot wait to bring these songs to you on the road, in the clubs, in ceremony — stronger, stranger, and seductively devastating."
OTEP's sophomore album, "House of Secrets" (2004),was produced by Greg Wells, who has previously worked with a diverse range of artists, including the DEFTONES, MICHELLE BRANCH, and ELTON JOHN. The follow-up to 2002's "Sevas Tra" was recorded at Los Angeles' Rocket Carousel Studios and features guest drumming on six tracks by SLIPKNOT basher Joey Jordison.
